Description:

A medium to large ichneumon wasp resting under a light fitting in a public barbecue area. About 40mm long overall.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve.

Yep you're right lori. It puzzles me a bit in that they appear so early and there seems so little around in the way of target arthropods. Must be missing something.
Currently hatching out inside our house, as they do every year. Must get into the walls somehow. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6980455
