Field Notes

Description:

This looks to be a fly. Its body is a light, golden brown and the head looks to be of a green color. If you look closely on its left side you can notice some black and white stripes.

Habitat:

I found it resting under a leaf in the narrow downward sloping pathway to the bay.

Notes:

It was found on Sep 16th, 2014 in the early afternoon during early fall.

Interesting capture!!
I think this might be the Japanese Beetle because of its' odd coloring and line across the back. It is foretold that this type of beetle is a pest and destructively eats all plants
That's an awesome picture! Kinda looks like it got a little hungry there posing for the photo
