I am sceptic about your C. abdominalis. For me it looks more like Cicindela trifasciata ascendens. http://bugguide.net/node/view/467753 http://bugguide.net/node/view/467755/bgimage Note the "classic" marking at the base of the elytrae: http://bugguide.net/node/view/804840/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/520556/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/410300/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/270645/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/340670/bgimage?from=24 What do you think about??
Carabidae, Cicindelinae, Tiger Beetles and most probably a Cicindela sp.. It is easy to rule out most of the species, but the markings are not really clearly visible. So maybe a crop would help? Try yourself to find the exact one... http://bugguide.net/node/view/563/bgpage
