Description:

Hard, almost woody mushroom with a white, porous underside. Possibly some other similar-looking stalked polypore.

Habitat:

Mossy forest floor under Sitka Spruce

Thanks for the idea Jae! That does seem like a closer match to me.
Perhaps it's a Polyporus species, Machi. There are a few species in this genus that have a black or dark stem base just like the one in your pictures.
