Field Notes

Description:

A small white bird, with black on its head and below its beak. It's wings are darker and its tail has a red color to it.

Habitat:

Small forests and wooded areas.

Notes:

I spotted this species of birds in a yard. They were eating seeds left in a bird feeder while I snapped this photo. They must likely inhabit the wooded area around the neighborhood.

Black-capped Chickadees are far out of range: http://sdakotabirds.com/species/maps/black_capped_chickadee_map_small.jpg
Both the black-capped and Carolina chickadee are found in the area, but I'm pretty sure it's a Carolina chickadee. Thanks guys!
I agree with Dana. The Carolina Chickadee is the only species of chickadee regularly found in Louisiana.
Cute! Looks like a black-capped chickadee to me. I'm not familiar with the area though, so it might be another type of chickadee.
