Hi Don, perhaps you could be so kind as to go into "edit this spotting" and add the updated details you have been given, and do the same with some of your other spottings where you have been sent updates. This would be a great help to us as with 150,000 spottings and rising fast we would be overloaded without everybody's help.
OK, it used to be called the "African Long-tailed Shrike" but was changed to "Magpie Shrike" a good many years ago, possibly to avoid confusion with the Long-tailed Shrike of non-African countries. The scientific name is "Corvinella melanoleuca".
Wow!, bet that tail is as long as the Scissor-tailed flycatcher!
