Field Notes

Description:

Bright reddish cap. Straight white stalk with yellowish gills. Can peel off cap coat easily. Dibrea sticks to cap and easily crumbles.

Habitat:

Found buried under pine needles about 3-6ft. From pine tree. Grew 1-3 spread out from base of tree. Found in early May in Georgetown, Ky.

Notes:

This fungi is called, "The Sickener" for good reason. Do not ingest.
