If they had red on the wings, then it most definitely was a Red-winged Blackbird. Here's my spotting from recently. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8650835
Welcome to Project Noah ptisher! I would guess that these birds are Red-wing blackbirds, but it's a little difficult to tell from this photo. Were you able to get any close up shots as ideally we should be able to see a little more detail before we can confirm an animal's identity.
