Hmm, I stand corrected. I had seen some adult diamondbacks in the area and made an assumption. Thanks!
That actually looks more like a Texas Night Snake (Hypsiglena torquata). Google some images of it and see if you don't agree. They are pretty neat, they are one of a few colubrids (normally non venomous snakes) that have a slightly toxic venom.
