Description:

Its long neck, long legs, black belly, and white wing patch make it a distinctive-looking waterfowl.

Habitat:

Marshes and wetlands - found in the United States only in the very southern parts.

Notes:

Was floating on the Aucilla River in a rubber boat when we came across this pair of black bellied whistling ducks - this was the first time I had ever seen these.
