Description:

Large (see photo 2 for scale) decaying mushroom below trees in mixed woodland. I'm assuming it fell from one of the trees.

It's all black now, but the underside looked like it was once cream or gold colored. I did check all the trees but couldn't find anything fresh that looked anything like this.

It is a spotting none the less.Sometimes I like to Id with the minimum information.

Yes I think so Emma - it was in poor shape so I don't know if I will be able to get an ID but it was such a size I had to share, plus a good candidate for Lars's Beauty of Decay mission I thought!
