Description:
The Solomon's seal is a perennial flowering plant from the Asparagaceae family, spreading by rhizomes. It grows up to 1m in height, and sports an arching stem full of alternate leaves - leaves tend to point upwards, while a multitude of tubular white flowers with green tips hang below.
Habitat:
Eurasian species, often found on edges of forests growing in shadow. Here, observed in Natural Reserve of Jura mountain range, at 900m approx; in a mixed forest, and on a shoulders of forest road on slopes.
Notes:
The Solomon's seal is known as a medicinal plant, being used in treatments of gout and rheumatism.
