Description:
commonly called the Black iguana. Most have black dorsal bands. & the underbody is usually off-white. The tail is ringed with specialized spiny scales. These iguanas use their tails as a whip to defend themselves.
Habitat:
Native to: Mexico - Central America. Ruins, stone walls, rocky open slopes and branches of large trees along the open borders of the forests.
