Description:

Lily Borer? Brithys crini? It seems to have a different color-pattern, unless it is in the process of molting? https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1128775

Habitat:

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is one of the last primary rainforests in Sri Lanka and is a biodiversity hotspot, it was established as a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978, and a World Heritage site in 1988 by UNESCO. More than 60% of the trees are endemic, it's also home to 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species of animals and 95% of the endemic birds of the country. Surrounded in dense fog, the dangerous, dark and mysterious Sinharaja forest is steeped in deep legend and mystery. The word Sinharaja means lion- (සිංහ/சிங்கம் sinha) king or kingdom (රාජ/ராஜா raja), and a popular folk legend has it that a legendary lion lived in this protected forest. 60% of the forest is contained within the border of Rathnapura District, 20% in the Galle District, and 20% in Kaluthara District. The forest is likely to have formed during the Jurassic era and spans over an area of 360 km², it is the most dense rainforest in Asia with 240,000 plants per hectare. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinharaja_Forest_Reserve

Lemme know when you're ready Mark, I don't want to reveal it for too long.
Yes it is, but I'm not using it for PN any more, there is a whole range of problems associated with the hotmail, first of all I need to add e-mails as friends before I can even receive e-mails from most people, I don't know why it's selective like this, some are able to send me e-mails, like scammers. I receive about 200 e-mails per week from those people, and it's just nonsense. I could untag to hide my e-mail on this account for just a minute or so, then you can send one to my gmail instead.
Ok.. as I'm a moderator and not privy to the code or system I have had to send your questions up the line. It should take a day or so to get replies. We might need to communicate via private email so is the old hotmail one still ok to use?
@Mark Ridgway, I've had an account since 2011 or so, called Gaia80
Looks like the Lily borer, doesn't it ? Pity Nuwan isn't around to confirm it.
@Mark Ridgway, I have a new camera now, last one was a Canon D1000. At least I have the capacity to zoom 40x, and the auto-focus now with the Coolpix B500, so I hope this will create a better series of pictures in the future ;) This camera is light, clear enough, have macro function, and doesn't take much space in my backpack. It also have a video function that is stunning, I have and might made/make nature videos that I post on youtube at some point with this one :)
Hey Mark Ridgway, I've been having some issues with accessing the other account I have on PN, I've had problems logging into the account since Sri Lanka, that's why I created this one to compensate. Earlier I had no problem googling it to find my nature journal, but today I can't find it even if I write exactly what I want to search for. I have to go into PN through a mission and then click on my profile to find it. And why aren't the support answering my e-mails about this issue and the issue about merging my accounts to one...just a bit frustrated here atm...
Strange one. I wish we could see more detail. You might need to borrow one next time. ;-)
