Species ID Suggestions

You're welcome KdonGalay, it's really a treat and a pleasure to see this! Photos of the whole plant and its habitat would be even more thrilling still! Leaves aren't always the most reliable characteristic to id a species as they can vary somewhat according to environmental conditions. The only thing stopping me from putting my money on Calanthe lyroglossa is lack of a good reference to the other Calanthe (& Orchidaceae) in the Philippines. Looking forward to more of your spottings from the wilds of the Philippines!
hi craigwilliams, i guess that's more like it, Calanthe lyroglossa. and you're right its a terrestrial and the leaves resembles just like that but i guess its thinner of a bit. i've have learned something from you today, that in documenting something i'm not familiar of, i should take all details for id. thanks craigwilliams
Hello KdonGalay! This is a beautiful orchid. Could you tell us a bit more about it so we can try to help identify it? It has the look of a terrestrial but it's difficult to tell from this shot if it is. At the moment, my hunch would be that it is some kind of Calanthe. It looks a bit like Calanthe lyroglossa but I can't be certain: http://131.230.176.4/imgs/pso/r/Orchidaceae_Calanthe_lyroglossa_26281.html
