Not exactly sure if this is Favites abdita. The mottled coloration is probably the result of coral bleaching...

That's possible, glbnoah109, although I don't have scientific data to back that.
Yes, this is bleaching. There appears to be finger coral in the background with bleaching also. Just noticed delltaic sedimentation from an area to the northwest (moonland village). Is the current transporting material from the moonland village area to the spotting site?
Great shot of bleaching. How close is this to currents that may carrying runoff from an made activity (golf courses, etc)? What was the water temperature? I have seen this called favites. this coral resembles Star Coral in the Caribbean. The pattern resembles that on the Caribbean Montastraea cavernmosa. If Geraldo is monitoring this, what do you think of the similarity?
