Description:

The Yellow-crowned night heron is a stocky wading bird with a thick black bill. Its large head is black and white with a pale yellow crown. The eyes are dark orange or red.

Habitat:

Spotted in Catfish Creek at the Gus Engeling WMA in Texas.
