According to the research there is only one species known in Arkansas and that is the Texas Brown Tarantula (has multiple common names). You can see the wiki page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphonopelma_hentzi However viewing photos and various pages, it seems that some are seeing these to come in many color variations of browns and blacks.

Yes. I seen it crossing the road on Mt. Magazine in Arkansas
Was this guy wild?? I only know them from California.
