Field Notes

Description:

This is a very striking Yucca with tall flowering stalks with purple-white bell-like flowers. The plant itself has a hairy appearance from all the white curling strands peeling from the sides of the leaves (last pictures). Family Asparagaceae.

Habitat:

Many of these were flowering from the lower regions of the West Rim Trail right to the summit of Angel's Landing, Zion National Park, Utah.
