Field Notes

Description:

A male Indian Peafowl, or Peacock, the national bird of India. It has been introduced or domesticated in many parts of south Florida.

Habitat:

Crandon Beach Park on Key Biscayne.

Notes:

Males are more common in the introduced region, possibly because they are more likely to be imported due to their coloration (females are brownish green and lack the tail feathers).
