Field Notes

Description:

These birds are really noisy. Around 5 am they start their party, that'll end just when the sun is all set and the moon is high in the sky. Close to my house in the countryside we have a whole group. When they wake up, they like to stay up on the roof or some trees around the house, making just tons of noises. During the day they keep flying around and into some of the forest areas nearby. I found them eating Ciriguela fruits (Spondias purpurea), as it is shown on one of the pics.

Habitat:

They make their nests inside empty palm trees. They were found on Tropical forest areas, staying closer to the open areas rather then in the deep of the forest. Most of the time, they are perched on palm trees or at the top of other trees.
