Field Notes

Description:

This well dressed caterpillar sports narrow black and white stripes over the upper half of its body. It is bright orange/yellow underneath. The head is black with white markings and it has a sneaky false head on its rear end. No hair.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Gardiner County Park, New York.
