Field Notes

Description:

There are currently large swarms of these little beetles flying around the emerging flowers on cassinia sp. Short elytra, very furry underneath, small 'combs' near the mouth. I think this one is female (a male had just left the scene). About 10mm long.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve adjoining a national park.

Notes:

Yet to search for species... suspecting melolonthinae
