Description:

Commonly known as the Zebra Mosaic or Mosaic butterfly. These butterflies are commonly seen on shady tree trunks with their heads pointing downward. They rarely eat nectar from flowers, instead These butterflies eat rotting breadfruit, bananas and other tropical fruits, carrion and dung.

Habitat:

Mexico - northern South America. Primary and secondary forests. Host plants: Trees in the Cecropia family
