Description:

2-3 inches from head to wingtip. Antennae can double total length. This is what sets it apart from the typical grasshopper. Long distinct hind legs. Leafy green coloring.

Habitat:

Found on potted plant located on shaded porch. North America, California, Vista.

Hello. I know you were seeking assistance o this ID. I've just noticed that you've called it Tettigonia viridissima. However this species apparently occurs from Europe to Mongolia; it is not found in the US. See a map here. http://eol.org/pages/859567/maps Sorry, I wish I knew which species this was!
