Field Notes

Description:

Noticed this bean tree with its feet in the Red Oak Creek in the village.

Habitat:

Damp woodland

Notes:

In the summer they often get infested with a caterpillar ("catalpa worm", larval stage of sphinx moth) that can strip the tree bare of foliage, but usually tree recovers. Will try to photograph them this year.
