Field Notes

Description:

In a disorganised radial web a small (15mm) very shiny, all black spider with three lumps at rear, one large central and two smaller on the sides, and a raised front on abdomen.

Habitat:

Tall eucalyptus forest with considerable intrusion from non-idigenous species of plants.

Notes:

Pics are quite scarce for this species. There are several where the size and shape is exactly the same but always different colours. For example ...

Also the Atlas of Living Australia shows only one occurence in Victoria....

It would seem the colours are not an issue for ID on this !?
Ok... mine is the only all-black one.
