Field Notes

Description:

Female

Habitat:

Forest

Notes:

First spotted her from my camp porch, then a few minutes later the male came and was on the tree next to her. His colors were more vibrant and he was slightly larger. Pics taken with iPhone. Woodpeckers like these old maples because the wood is decaying and softer to get through.
