Field Notes

Description:

Small yellow bellied bird, medium brown and black back, wings, and tail, small white spots on tail.

Habitat:

Found on sidewalk at local McDonalds garden (same location that the cicada from my other spotting was found).

Included are photos of surrounding area.

Notes:

I wanted to check to see if it was okay, because it was not moving when I tried to get close for a photo.
After a few photos, I lightly stroked it's head and back, and after a moment of patting it opened its eyes to look at me. It finally flew away after I gently cupped my fingers around it to lift it and check to see if it was injured.
It landed some time between when I arrived to sit on the garden box, and when I saw it before I left without a "thud" into the glass, so I know it didn't fly into the window thank goodness.
I hope it was just napping, even if that was an unusual napping place.
