Field Notes

Description:

Not a great photo, but it's flower like red and yellow. There were a lot of them on the ground. I think they were from a tree.

Notes:

Spotted in April in Clark's Creek Natural Area, MS. Not far from Tunica Hills and St. Francisville, LA.

I have not heard of them before, but I just looked up wild poinsettia and it does say Louisiana is within its' range. But these looked a little thinner than the photos of known wild poinsettia, but maybe that's because they had been on the ground a while by the time I found it?
