Field Notes

Description:

This one is probably a juvenile, is no more then 40cm long and the colors are really bright.
The colors are dark green, brown or even grey, with a distinctive yellow or sometimes almost white collar around the neck, the belly is always whitish. Females are longer than males. They can reach 1m length and rarely almost 2m.

Habitat:

This one, around 1600m altitude, on the Mt. Galero grassy slopes.
They are common from river banks to mountain slopes.

Notes:

In my country (Romania) their common name translate word to word is "home snake"... Mice is part of their diet, and in some communities they are considered helpful...

@caldasrafa: Thanks for ID. @Noe and Pili: Thanks for appreciation.
I'm sure that's a Natrix natrix, but I don't know if it's the same http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8200974
