Field Notes

Description:

A heard of mostly male deer play, spar and graze in the foothills of Colorado.

Notes:

Does anyone know why 5-6 males would be together in a heard together like this? I know it's after the rut, but I was still a little surprised to see this many males of different ages together. There was also 2 or 3 young females. Any info is appreciated!

They were fun to watch! At one point two of the young males got close to me and gave me the stare down. It was definitely intimidating! Luckily I was in my truck!
Beautiful!! Maybe they're just out having fun!! Boys will be boys!! (with a few girl tagalongs!!) ;-)
