Description:
The harpy eagle is a bird family Accipitridae Accipitriformes. It is also known as Hawk-de-plume, Guiraçu (Uirá, guiro = bird, ACU = large), harp and Uiraçu.
Although not the largest of predatory birds on the planet, is considered the strongest. It has powerful beak and claws enormes.Mede about 105 cm long and up to 220 cm wingspan. The male measures about 57 inches tall and weighs 4.8 kg. The female is about 90 cm tall and weighs 9 kg.
Habitat:
Present in Brazil in remote forest regions, particularly in the Amazon, or in protected areas such as Atlantic Forest reserve, they migrate at certain times of year for the state of São Paulo.Encontrado also from Mexico to Argentina.
