Field Notes
Description:
An attractive rust coloured moth with miniscule white specks (irroration) with a wing span of about 30 mm. Costal margins were silky white which streaked obliquely in two areas towards the inner margins. The trailing margins had a silky fringe. The thorax was pale with a rusty median line. Labial palps were recurved ( pic 2)
Habitat:
Seen under bright garden lights on a warm night. <br> Seen throughout Australia except the Northern Territory.
Notes:
Larvae of this species feed on eucalyptus leaves and live in silken tubular shelters built in leaves. <br>
