Field Notes

Description:

A lively, if slightly belligerent small bird with a jaunty crest. Acrobatic when feeding on nectar. The wing has striped effect in yellow and black. I do not know why it is called stripe-throated; the ones I saw did not exhibit a striped throat. Otherwise a mousey colour.

Habitat:

Neora Valley. Kolakham. West Bengal. India. A remote, pristine hilly and forested area. This one was feeding on garden flowers (last shot) . Then it dozed off for a bit!

Thanks Tukup..glad you like this little bird...it kept us amused for hours with its antics.
A "belligerent" bird. I like that. I know exactly what you need. Cool capture Sukanya. Thanks.
