Field Notes

Description:

Light gray colored fungi opens when wet into triangular fringes. Summer and autumn season.

Habitat:

Conifer woods

Notes:

We took a hike up the Cascade Falls trail and counted 27 different mushrooms on the way up. (I'm sure we even missed many!) This was my favorite of the day, and I had never seen these before. The grayish color stood out on the brown conifer forest floor.
