Field Notes

Description:

Forewing narrow and pointed; white with brown filling between veins. Forewing looks tan overall. Three dark brown streaks extend inward from outer margin, shortest streak near apex. Hindwing pure white without markings. Wing Span: 3.5-4 cm, life history: 2 or more broods.
Caterpillar Hosts: Cattails, grasses, poplars, sedges, and willows.
