Description:
Serinethinae species are also known as Soapberry bugs. They feed on the seeds of the Soapberry family, which includes plants like boxelders, maples, soapberries, jacket plums, rambutans, and litchis. These plants have evolved in many different ways to protect their seeds, but still these insects have managed to work around these plants' special defenses.
Habitat:
Throughout the world, most diverse in tropical regions. Soapberry (Sapindaceae) plants.
Notes:
Observed at night on the edge of a Red Mangrove forest.
