Field Notes

Description:

Climbing plant with pink tubular flowers, yellow on inside. Cluster of flowers at the end of branches. Light yellow and cream-coloured inside. Pointed leaves.

Habitat:

Grassland, Highveld, mid-northern part of South Africa. Summer rainfall of 750 - 1 000 mm.

Notes:

Profusion of flowers, fairly short-lived. Size fairly short, 50 mm
Port St Johns creeper found in South Africa. It is similar to Zimbabwean creeper (Podranea brycei) which grows in Zimbabwe and has smaller, darker pink flowers.
