Description:

The red-eared slider is perhaps the most recognizable of turtles. It is a medium sized turtle with a dark green oval shell, marked with yellow in younger turtles, green legs with thin yellow stripes and a green head with a red stripe behind the eye.

Habitat:

The Red-eared Slider originated from the area around the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico and have spread to all parts of the world due to them being the most popular pet turtle on the planet. In the wild they prefer to inhabit fresh bodies of water in warm climates.
