Description:

A wild version of the common sunflower. My state flower, and a pretty immature specimen. The seeds, head, and leaves have barely begun to show up. Glad they did. These dotted the field driving to Polk Daniels Lake in Howard, Kansas.

Habitat:

Common throughout North America.
