Field Notes

Description:

A dark caterpillar with long black bristles along the length of the back. The bristles were denser around the head and tail. Each segment had tufts of short orange hairs on the upper side and there were tufts of long white bristles on each segment on the sides. Along the mid line, on each segment was a sof -looking tuft of white hairs - the patch looked like an upside down triangle with a touch of red at the "apex" of the triangle
Both thoracic and abdominal prolegs were clearly visible. I could not study the head.

Habitat:

? this caterpillar was climbing an outer wall of a house

Notes:

Would like some help with identifying this. Thanks
