The flat part of the skull (in the second picture) is the back of the skull, not the front.
Welcome to Project Noah tambra4455 Interesting first spotting, congrats and thanks for sharing We hope you like the site as much we do; there are many features you can explore: We invite you to go to http://www.projectnoah.org/faq where you will find the purpose and “rules” of Project Noah. There is a blog http://blog.projectnoah.org/ where we post articles from spotters with special insight into different organisms. There are also the chats for help with identification, and to comment on your own and others’ spottings. Look at the global and local missions to put your spottings into: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions
I compared this to deer skulls, but this skull is flat on the front, and deer skulls taper in an elongated fashion. That is what I found so interesting. We do have a large deer population, and I have seen deer skulls, but none that were flat on front.
This looks like a deer skull. See what kind of deer lives around your area and you might be able to identify the species (by size).
