Field Notes

Description:

Pigeons with bronze, copper or blue coloured flash in wings; otherwise mostly grey; male slightly more colourful and has distinct white or cream mark on forehead; both sexes have a white strip under the eye; short stance; stout red legs.

Habitat:

Very open dry scrubby forest verging on grasslands; these on a fire access track; often on the ground and instead of flying away when alarmed they may run into low bushes
