Description:

I spotted it when my plane just was landing at Airport and this cute butterfly perched on the window. would anybody mind helping me ID this arthropods? thanks a lot

Moths are part of the same order as butterflies (Lepidoptera), so you're not so far off! You now also have suggestion for a genus from NuwanChathuranga (Amata), so all you need is the species:-)

H iulitobing! Great spotting this from a plane! I think this is one of the wasp moths, from the family Arctiidae. I hope someone will be able to help further.
