Description:
My friends at work had mistaken this for a stag beetle, but this is a pretty large ground beetle. I put him outside to save him a squishing but we just kept encountering so many we decided to leave them. I assume this is a male because of the size of its mandibles, which I'm sure can deliver quite a bite, but luckily I never got to find out.
Habitat:
Found in the Eastern US.
