Field Notes

Description:

It is a vase shaped mushroom (similar to a chanterelle). There were two clumps growing less than two feet apart. Each clump is about 4-6 inches across.

Habitat:

This is a forest consisting mostly of eastern white pines and oak, maple & birch trees). This sample was found near oaks.
