Same subfamily as the Monarch, but that one is not found in India. Yours must be Danaus chrysippus, but I must admit I carefully had to compare it with Danaus genutius, the other found in India (besides the much rarer Danaus melanippus). The picture of the face made it easier to separate the 2 species.
