Common Loon (Mature)

Two different sightings of a mature Common Loon in Summer feathers. Soon they will molt and head for warmer weather. I added an image of the nesting raft we erected a few years ago. The water level of the lake changes in an extreme way. I could walk to the raft this year and the floats underneath need to be replaced. The rafts allows the nest to stay dry when the water gets high. Loons cannot walk on land well.
