Field Notes

Description:

Cap. Cream to pale tan, sheen not apparent in the field but visible in images; flexible and rubbery, 2.25 inches diameter; flat, becoming depressed with age; flesh, white. Gills, cream, running down the stem. Stem, gray; ca.3 inches long; 3/16 inches diameter; smooth. Spore print, pale tan.

Habitat:

Growing alone and in clusters in gully in predominantly pine forest. Association with roots not apparent, but possible.

Notes:

Formerly Gerronema strombodes and Omphalina strombodes.
